A New Year and a New Hobby (blogging)

About a month ago I got a call from my daughter-in-law, Joan. She was calling to tell me she had decided to start blogging. Of course, I was delighted because I knew there would be pictures of my wonderful grandsons, Trent and Jack, and if one thing is true - it's that I am always pestering Matt and Joan to e-mail me more pictures. After enjoying her blog for a couple of weeks - I got to thinking I would like to try my hand at blogging. So I thought - what better time to start than at the beginning of the year. First of all - I'd like to tell you how I came up with the name for my blog. Recently Matt and Joan left Trent with us on Thursday-Sunday - while they went on a "get-a-way" with some friends. We had a great time playing with Trent and taking him to see Christmas lights and enjoying Christmas events all around Jackson. However, one of the things I love most when Trent is visiting is just sitting back and listening to him. Sometimes he "reads," sometimes he talks to himself (not in a crazy way!), and other times he is singing and being happy. One evening I was in the den reading - and Trent was in the back of the house in "his room" with the dog, Peanut. All of the sudden I heard him say, "Peanut - move! You are in my space!" It was clear Trent was NOT happy about Peanut being "in his space." When thinking about a name for my blog - I was reminded of that conversation Trent had with Peanut - as well as how "You are in my space" is a phrase spoken often, and most times in a negative way. Then I thought of people who are "in my space" and how thankful I am they are there. My space would be extremely lonely if I were the only one in it! So - feel free to drop by my space whenever you like. You probably won't find anything "world-shaking" - but I would love to have you be a part of our lives.
